If you’re in a studio environment where you can control the backdrop, this isn’t something you might have to worry about. On the other hand, if you shoot outside, you may get used to using only the ultra-wide aperture to handle a busy scene. However, with a group of people, if you are not placing them on the same focal plane, you will need a narrower aperture to allow for a wider depth of field to ensure that every face is in focus correctly.
