Strategy in Final Fantasy
Probably one of the highest rated spin-off games of the whole The Last Illusion series. Strategy in Final Fantasy Set in the Ivalice universe, similar to XIIand share some DNA with XVI the result is. Tactics is a game mired in politics, discussing class and war in interesting and meaningful ways. With another master localization, similar to Final Fantasy XII, this is a game with an incredible story that is well worth the time to play. Not as vague as Goblin Tactics, Strategy in Final Fantasy certainly more obvious in terms of the moral of its narrative, but equally effective. It’s on PlayStation, PSP and mobile devices.

Another Matsuno title, this game features a more “action-focused” combat system. The player takes on the role of Ashley Riot, a member of the Riskbreakers group, who confronts a religious cult that wants to gain control of Valendia. Despite the smaller scale in terms of environments players can explore, Vagrant Story feels more grounded in terms of presentation. The combat system can be a bit clunky when compared to newer RPGs, but is worth a visit for its stunning visual presentation and incredible localization. It’s only available on PlayStation.
