3 die in Bowie County explosion, fire marshal says | News

SIMMS, Texas – Three folks died in an explosion and fireplace Tuesday night time west of Simms in Bowie County.

Fireplace Marshal Scotty Taylor mentioned two males and a girl have been in a workshop subsequent to a house at 160 County Street 4242 when the explosion occurred.

Bowie County Sheriff’s Workplace has recognized the victims as Steven Granbery, 60, his 55-year-old spouse, Cynthia, and William Barnes, 65, all of Simms. The Granberys owned the property the place the hearth occurred. 

Three fireplace division, Simms, DeKalb and Maud, responded to the decision with between 35 and 40 firefighters.

Taylor mentioned many of the fireplace was out in half-hour.

He mentioned the reason for the explosion and fireplace is below investigation.
