2023 Perodua Axia D74A – 3,591 new pre-orders, target 5,700 units monthly, becoming Perodua’s best seller
The 2023 Perodua Axia has been available for pre-order since January 31 of this year and although less than a month has passed since the order book opened, Perodua has already obtained 3,591 pre-orders for the upcoming A-segment hatchback.
The national automaker also sets a sales target of 5,700 units/month for the second-generation model. In doing so, the upcoming model will also become Perodua’s best-selling model, exceeding production numbers for the B-segment. myvi.
Perodua also announced at the upcoming model preview event that the total production volume for the second generation Axia is expected to exceed 82,000 units, equivalent to the final production batch of the first generation Axia. coming soon. The automaker also aims to achieve a 45% market share by 2023.
However, there are still about 44,000 orders for the Axia that have yet to be fulfilled. Perodua has managed to convert almost all of these featured bookings for the first generation model to reserve for the upcoming D74A generation vehicle, although more expensive than its predecessor due to more content and being a larger vehicle.
Four variants will be offered from launch – G, X, SE and AV, with each variant estimated to cost RM38,600, RM40,000, RM44,000 and RM49,500 respectively, including on-road premium . . All variants of the new Axia are powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine that is now mated to a D-CVT transmission, replacing the four-speed automatic transmission of its predecessor.
