New York tends to get all the attention because emerging fashion brandbut this LA girl starting to feel a little, well, jealous. It’s just that the East Coast has been shining as the fashion capital of this country for a long time, and in my opinion, there’s a lot going on here on the Pacific side of the continental United States, that also deserves attention.
In fact, I even hate comparing two cities because they are almost also different to warrant such a comparison, but I have a feeling competition will exist, which is why I tried today to point out the strong growth landscape of smaller and emerging indie name Angelenos we have. Don’t worry — I’m not trying to knock you down, New York. I’m just trying to show the following Los Angeles clothing brand is the type that every stylish Angeleno knows but won’t be spreading to her NYC friends any time soon. Hey, we got to have some nice stuff of our own, right?
So it’s only natural that the overarching themes of the following 10 brands are about comfort, fun and – dare I say – the “cold” variety for which this sunny city is known. Expect to discover everything from vintage-inspired disco pants to romantic lingerie and fun basics in the compilation below. You may even find yourself arguing that LA is the better coast.
