Your Ultimate Guide to Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights

Universal has been a fixture in the monster movie world since the 1930s, bringing fictional works like Werewolf, Dracula and The Invisible Man to the big screen.

These famous monsters were once the mainstay at Universal Orlando Resort since the park opened in Orlando in 1990, appearing in attractions such as the “Horror Make-Up Show” and the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster.

Popular dates, including opening weekend and Halloween, sell out early. You need to take yours ticket right now if you don’t want to miss out.

Haunted house

There will be 10 haunted houses at Universal’s Halloween Horror Night this year, though only one has been confirmed so far. The houses are often a hybrid between concepts originally dreamed up by scary minds at Universal and popular culture favorite horror films like “Halloween,” “Stranger Things,” and “Stranger Things.” Beetlejuice”.

Houses are scattered throughout the park. The Universal Orlando app includes a map of their location in the park. Some are in overcrowded queues to play games, some are in real, active soundstages, and others are in huge tents that don’t look as intimidating from the outside as the inside.

So far, Universal has only announced one of this year’s homes — the house inspired by everyone’s favorite killer doll, Chucky from the “Children’s Games” series.

fear zone

In addition to the haunted houses, Universal also created a series of outdoor scare zones throughout the park. This year there will be five fear zones and there is almost no way to get around the park without facing the fear zones directly.

The “scarer” (rhymes with “character”) roams the scare zones in search of unwitting victims of fear, but they are not as scary as the houses. They are more likely to give you an evil look or follow you a little too closely. However, they will also not hesitate to spin the chainsaw right in front of you if they think it will make you jump.

Like the houses, each scare zone has a different theme, although no theme has been announced for this year’s event yet.

Ticket

One-night ticket for this year’s event starts at $79.99 per person, plus tax. Halloween Horror Night is a separately ticketed event, so this doesn’t get you access to the parks during the day.

If you have a day pass (or an annual pass), Universal often opens up small areas of the park where you can drink and eat while they “turn over” the park for that night’s festivities.

You’ll have the chance to be one of the first in line to enter the houses when the park reopens for the evening. In previous years, you could also pay a little more to buy an additional “Scream Early” card to enter the park before the gates open to other HHN guests.
