You never know what will happen in the Bay Area. Last night YG brought the whole city to the Red Cup Tour in Oakland. While he took the time to introduce Bay Area artists Lil Kayla, Da Boii, D-Lo and others on stage, it was his former performer Kamaiyah that made everyone’s heart flutter! If you remember, the former First Lady of 4Hunnid Records and YG had a very public controversy. The cause of the drama came from the fact that Kamaiyah felt that the company was not the best supportive environment, leading to a rift that broke her working relationship with YG.
In 2020, she told Uproxx that she wanted the rapper to apologize. Oakland native says,
“There are some things that have been said that until you rectify and apologize, I feel like, ‘What am I talking about?’” she further explained. “”So I am appeasing your actions. And I’m a woman and a queen who stands by her word, I feel like you have to be a man and stand your ground and apologize for some of the things said and done.
We reached out to Kamaiyah, known affectionately as Yaya, to find out what happened behind the scenes that made her grace the stage with her former rival. She explained,
“They asked if I was going to Oakland, etc., and I was going home to braid my hair for the Grammys weekend, so it worked out.”
Kamaiyah also shared that YG apologized during her performance of her hit song “F**k it up” that he featured in. Yaya made it clear that YG doesn’t care what people say on the blog and he loves her.
Yaya also talked about her relationship with YG, sharing,
“We are like brothers and sisters, have the same management, etc. We just got over a public quarrel in the family because we cut business ties, that’s all, lol.” We asked Yaya if she plans to return to 4Hunnid after her Instagram story, but she said, “It was just a joke. It has been mentioned, but nothing has been confirmed.”
She ended the conversation by confirming the two are preparing to release new music! We love seeing it!
