There is no doubt that Xscape They have left a lasting mark on the industry, and this year they will be honored for their contributions. On Friday, it was announced that the legendary R&B group is the recipient of this year’s Lady of Soul award. Soul Train Award.
With more than 25 years in the game, Xscape is responsible for bringing us hit records like “Just Kickin’ It”, “Knowledge”, “Who can I run after” and many more.
They expressed excitement about the honor and said,
“How important is supposed to be Soul train is for all of us, we are grateful to be honored with ‘Lady of Soul’ Awards this year. It’s going to be a great night, and we can’t wait to see you all there again. “
The group first formed in the early 90s and released their debut album “Hummin ‘Comin’ at ‘Father,’ in 1993, and they followed up with two more albums. After being apart for many years, all four members originally reunited in 2017 and they have performed various concerts since. They even have their own reality show on Bravo TV, documenting their reunion.
Like before reports, Deon Cole has been announced as this year’s host for Soul Train AwardS. He shared his excitement and said,
“Organization ‘Soul Train’s Award is a dream come true. I grew up Soul train and ‘to this day, I have never encountered a Soul Train that I have not blessed with my two virtuosos. It is truly a privilege to be given this opportunity to honor the legacy of Don Cornelius, all the great Black talent that has lit our screens on iconic TV show and musical genre. My favorite music: Soul, R&B and Hip Hop. “
Mary J. Blige and Beyoncé are leading with seven nominations each.
This year’s show will begin on November 27.
