Due to Environment Canada’s Special Air Quality Warning for Southern Ontario, Woodbine Entertainment announced today that it will be canceling the Standardbred race pass at Woodbine Mohawk Park and the Thoroughbred race pass at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Woodbine Racetrack on Thursday, June 8, with the primary concern of the health and safety of the horses and race participants.
The decision is in line with advice Woodbine has received from veterinarians, medical doctors and other racing officials including the Ontario Game and Wine Commission.
Woodbine will continue to monitor the situation and weather forecasts to determine whether it will proceed with the live race on Friday, June 9.
