Organizing Committee of Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) Award announced the winners and finalists of the 2022 competition. Nearly 20,000 photos were submitted by photographers from 154 countries, of which Slovenian photographer Matjaz Krivic won the title. Travel Photographer of the Year thanks to his snaps of one of the last two northern white rhinos on the planet.
For underwater photographers, two categories will be of particular interest—“Water” and “Blue Planet, Blue Planet”—impressively, both belong to the same campaign Underwater shooter, Ukrainian Alexej Sachs, won. His four images in the “Blue Planet, Blue Planet” category powerfully depict the human-made tragedy of ocean pollution, “a great example of a powerful message captured in a simple and engaging way,” commented the judges.
