Why don’t all cameras have this useful feature?
Modern cameras, even at the entry-level, are machines of exceptional capabilities, offering many useful features for photographers and filmmakers alike. However, a basic feature is still dropped in many models, despite its usefulness and popularity. This great video discusses why more cameras should use it.
Coming to you from James Popsys, this excellent video discusses the usefulness and necessity of fully matching the rear screen on a camera. The fully-matched display is the kind of feature that once you use it, you’ll wonder how you ever worked without it. For example, I love them when I’m shooting events and need to shoot above the crowd. Instead of holding the camera overhead and hoping for the best while blindly aiming, I can use the monitor to see exactly what I’m shooting. Likewise, you can use the monitor to take low-key shots without having to lie on the ground or stretch. Many top-end cameras, such as Canon’s 1D series, keep their screens flush with the body for durability, but beyond that, I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t. have one. Check out the video above for Popsys’ full thoughts.
