This card earns Citi ThankYou points that you can redeem at Amazon.com, for gift cards or Real-time claim credit for less than a cent each. If you want to save points for travel, you can transfer these ThankYou points to JetBlue TrueBlue, Choice Privileges, and Wyndham Rewards.

However, if you also have a premium Citi card like Citi Premier® Card or Citi Prestige® Card (no longer available to new registrants), you can combine points earned from your Citi Rewards+ Card with points in your “premium” card account and then transfer them to any period Citi ThankYou airline transfer partner.

With the Citi Rewards+ Card, you’ll earn two points for every dollar spent at supermarket And the gas station over the first $6,000 is spent each year, then 1 point per dollar.

You’ll also earn 5 points per dollar for booking hotels, car rentals and attractions (excluding air travel) on Citi travel portal until June 30, 2024.

Round to the nearest 10 points

The points you earn on each Citi Rewards+ Card purchase are rounded to the nearest 10 points. This means you’ll earn more than one point for every dollar spent on almost any purchase.

For supermarket and gas station purchases that earn two points per dollar spent, earnings of 2 points per dollar are calculated before rounding up to the nearest 10 points. So you’ll earn 10 points for a $2 coffee, 20 points for a $12 lunch, 70 points for $32 gas, and 230 points for $111 groceries.

10% points back

In addition to bonus categories and rounding points, you will also earn 10% of your score back over the first 100,000 ThankYou points you redeem each year. That’s 10,000 points back if you redeem 100,000 points.

However, that doesn’t just apply to points redeemed from this card. If you link your Citi Rewards+ Card and Citi Premier Card accounts, combine the points and then transfer the points to an airline, you will get 10% of your points back. That’s true even if the points don’t originate from your Rewards+ card.

Since the Citi Rewards+ Card rounds to the nearest 10 points for all purchases, it’s ideal to use when paying for small purchases. Indeed, all purchases will earn you a minimum of 10 points. This means that you can get relatively high returns from small purchases on a large scale. For example, you’ll earn 10 points for a $1 drink at your corner store.
