Who is Aaron Long? Inside the USMNT World Cup squad
Player: Aaron Long
Age: 30
Place of birth: Oak Hills, California
Club: New York Red Beef
Position: center back
USMNT Hat: 23
Long, 30, is expected to start alongside Walker Zimmerman at centre-back. Since Miles Robinson tore his Achilles tendon earlier in the year, Berhalter has been looking for a worthy replacement and as of now, Long seems to be the number one choice.
The New York Red Bulls defender, who was a MLS Defender of the Year and a member of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, has experience with the USMNT, which is definitely a plus. In 29 caps, he has 3 goals and 2 assists.
But can he be a little rude when reporting to Qatar? The Red Bulls were soon knocked out of the MLS Cup knockout stages, and the last game he played was October 15.
