2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge T8 Ultimate in Malaysia – 81 km EV range, 462 PS; style editing; from RM356k
This is a live collection of the new Volvo XC60 that has been Update for 2023 model year in Malaysia. Pictured here is the top-end variant called Recharge T8 Ultimate which retails at RM355,888, which is one of two options, the other being the base B5 Plus at RM320,888.
These variants replace the previous duo those are the B5 Momentum and the Recharge T8 Inscription Plus, and their asking price is on the uninsured road, which includes a standard 5-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
Recharge T8 Ultimate is covered by an additional 8 years, 160,000 km plug-in hybrid battery. The battery claims to have an increased energy capacity of 18.8 kWh, allowing for an electric-only range of 81 km, according to an earlier update introduced in May of this year.
Other elements of the PHEV powertrain include a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 317 hp at 6,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque from 3,000 to 5,400 rpm, a rear electric motor (to complete the all-wheel drive arrangement) is rated at 145 hp and 309 Nm, as well as an eight-speed automatic transmission. This setup has a total system output of 462 PS and 709 Nm for a 0-100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds, a top speed of 180 km/h and a combined fuel consumption as low as 1. 6 liters per 100 km.
The visual changes are evident up front, with the Recharge T8 Ultimate equipped with the newer R-Design exterior package (revealed last year) instead of the Text interface. The distinctive “X-wing” shape of the front bumper, square mesh grille and more impressive rear bumper are the main identifying features of the 2023 XC60 PHEV.
Standard equipment for the most advanced version includes 19-inch dual-spoke black diamond-cut alloy wheels, an Android Automotive OS-based infotainment system with a 9-inch touchscreen, and a sound system. Bowers & Wilkins bar 1,100 watts, dual zones. climate control, power front seats with memory function, Orrefors crystal gearshift lever, windshield display, full LED headlights with Active High Beam as well as active bending lights, charcoal interior with Charcoal Open Grid Textile upholstery and Metal Mesh trim.
The XC60 retains the same active safety features, including collision avoidance with pedestrian, cyclist and large animal detection, as well as steering and brake assist, and Level 2 semi-autonomous steering assist.
