White Abarrio starts his first job since KY Derby started
C2 Racing Stable and La Milagrosa Stable’s White Abarrio breezed three furlongs May 29 at Gulfstream Parkback to the table for the first time since finishing the table in the May 8 Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve (G1).
Gray son of Race day who won the Holy Bull Stakes (G3) and the Curlin Florida Derby presented by Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms at Xalapa (G1) during the Gulfstream Championship Meeting before going through a wide and difficult ride at Churchill Downscalculated in time: 36.65.
“It’s been a good job and he’s done it well,” said coach Saffie Joseph Jr., who is showing White Abarrio the June 25 Ohio Derby (G3) at Thistledown.
White Abarrio has four wins out of six starts and $823,650 in earnings.
Joseph also sent the 1st grade winner Discharge the watch hit the track on Sunday morning for an extended three-way breeze at: 35.50.
It’s the second exercise for my son Music by Maclean since finishing sixth at Dubai Golden Shaheen Sponsored by Atlantis Dubai (G1) during the Dubai World Cup on March 26.
“We’ll probably target Smile,” Joseph said, referring to the $100,000 Smile Sprint Invitational Stakes (G3) on July 3 during the Gulfstream Speed Summit weekend.
The 4-year-old pony has seven wins out of 13, starting at $692,550.
