Which of these lenses is the better deal?

A good 24-70mm f/2.8 lens is often worth its weight in gold, and unfortunately, they are often overpriced. Fortunately, in the last few years, we’ve seen a huge amount of really much more affordable third-party options from companies like Tamron and Samyang. This great video comparison looks at two such options, Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 and Samyang 24-70mm f/2.8 AF.

Coming to you from Julia TrottiThis great video review compares with Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 and Samyang 24-70mm f/2.8 AF Glass. While the difference between 70mm and 75mm at the telephoto end is essentially insignificant, you should carefully consider the difference between 24mm and 28mm. Even though there’s only a 4mm difference, because both are wide-angle focal lengths, the gap between the two is quite substantial, and if you’re used to having 24mm available you might find a lens bottomed at 28mm quite limited, especially if you often work in tight spaces. However, both have impressive performance, especially for their respective prices, which are significantly lower than comparable first-party options. Check out the video above for Trotti’s full thoughts on both lenses.
