Today’s Fortnite Collision event has a lot of anime

It’s time for a Fortnite Summary of collisions. Events unfold similar to many previous “end of season” activities, but this time it involved a giant mech. So it’s one of the coolest ones by default.

This special ushered in the end of Chapter 3 Season 2: with another confrontation between the IO faction (the bad guys) and The Seven (whom the player is currently partnering with), ending point Zero (basically equivalent to Kingdom Hearts in Heart Kingdom): for the purpose of taking down The Collider (a structure that is essentially a comic book-style Doomsday Machine).

The collision started around 4:10 p.m. ET today

After joining the Collision playlist (and resisting a modest queue time of about three minutes), I zoned in 20 minutes early and was grouped with three other players. We basically have the option of sitting in the playable lobby until the event starts, or going into the gunner pool and knocking down some errant meteors.

After the timer ended (at around 4:10 PM ET), we were briefed on the mission summary (basically destroying an IO hub) and loaded onto a mech led by The Paradigm: a member of The Seven controls. Following a cute little anime montage of people getting ready for battle, the mech dashes out of space and into Fortnite map.

Here the gunner training comes in handy, and players can swap between machine guns, lasers, and rocket weapons sets as they take down more meteors on their way to re-enter: and tanks/ Enemy bases/mechs/missiles, like we’re taking off a bunch of RTS setups in a railroad shooter.

As usual, there are a few moments of subtle dramatic drama and no real danger, but it’s really fun to destroy everything in the same mech as everyone else. There are even some moments where people are encouraged to “combine [A] button ” to power up the mech.

After nearly knocking down The Collider, the mech falls into the pit and is eliminated: forcing everyone to keep walking.

This is where the Organization (voiced by The Rock) takes over, and all four party members join the IO foot soldiers on their way to stop Doctor Slone: ​​a protagonist in the story who has there’s a wicked heel turn in one Batman cross comics of all places (man Fortnite now wild: I even played Collision with Doctor Strange).

After a series of handgun fights, Slone cornered everyone.

In the end, Slone was crushed by a mech fist at the last second (when The Paradigm brought it back online), The Foundation and Jonesy (another common theme character for the series). Fortnite universe) has performed another quest and the player is greeted by a classic “To be continued…” screen (with Zangarmarsh are from World of Warcraft vibes) when the game went offline and Epic started preparing for the sequel. Expect the game to be back online sometime the next day (June 5 is confirmed as the start of Chapter 3 Season 3).

Rumors suggest that Darth Vader and Indiana Jones have passed the season, but nothing has been confirmed yet (other than a short tease of Vader via a portal during the Collision event itself).

As usual, many people probably won’t care what Fortnite doing at any present time. But I’m looking forward to showing these 20-minute horror movies at the end of each season with friends and family.

According to Epic, the “continued” post screen/stream below is procedurally generated in-game: “These beats are procedurally generated through ‘Quartz’, a subsystem of the Unreal Engine. No need to worry about claims or warnings. ”
