A battle between a cub and an old lion brought the spotlight to the NHL action Wednesday night as Connor McDavid and Edmonton Oilers took on Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Wednesday night marks the first of two games this season between two of the league’s brightest stars.
McDavid has had a different start to the season with 36 points in Edmonton’s first 20 games. You can’t take your eyes off the 24-year-old while he’s on the ice, as he has the ability to make a splash in the blink of an eye.
Crosby has less of a standout in tanks these days, but he certainly appreciates the skill McDavid possesses.

After starting the season with a wrist injury and once again absent with COVID-19, Crosby is slowly starting to find his form again. The Port Cole native will enter Wednesday’s game on a three-match streak. However, Crosby’s feisty form did not result in a victory for the Pens as Pittsburgh would clash with Edmonton on a two-game losing streak.
