Daryl Mitchell leads New Zealand race after Stuart wide strike for England

Newspaper Daryl Mitchell support the revival of New Zealand after Stuart Broad arrive early for England on the first day of the Third Test at Headingley on Thursday. New Zealand is 225 for the year at the close, with Mitchell 78 not coming out after his hundreds at Lord and Trent Bridge. Those inspired efforts were not enough to prevent the World Test champions from falling behind 2-0 in a three-match series. But Mitchell will aim to add another ton as Black Caps try to win the series finale. Wide, pointed British after James Anderson were excluded with an ankle injury, ruled out Tom Latham on the first day and then won the New Zealand captain’s award Kane Williamson while returning two for 45 in 17 passes.

Mitchell, however, held out after arriving with wobbly New Zealand in 83rd in four following Williamson’s decision to beat first after winning the pitch under a blue sky and on a fine pitch.

He received great support from Tom Blundell (45 not out) in the unbroken perspective of 102 – their third century partnership in this series.

England are looking to get three wins out of three under the leadership of their new captain duo Ben Stokes and test coach Brendon McCulluma former New Zealand captain.

They might not have had Anderson, the batsman in their All-Time Top Test, but Broad still knocked Latham for a sixth ball after he headed straight ahead. Joe Root slip at first

Will Young and Williamson, back in action after missing the Second Test in Nottingham with a wave of coronavirus, repaired some of the damage after no one could do anything about it.

Williamson, on the field where he used to play for Yorkshire, drove the four of Broad and Young cut the line with Jamie Overton, with the Surrey debutant quickly favoring twin brother Craig to replace Anderson.

Spin, however, ended up in a promising partnership, when left Jack Leach headers with his first ball, turns and lands a straight serve to open the scoring for Young lbw for 20.

Broad later fired Williamson, whose fluent 31 included five legs, when the star volleyball player hit a superb foot-cut for the basketball keeper. Ben Foakes when the seafarer took his 548th Test stick.

Williamson, in a rare display of emotion, tore off his glove.

Overton, given his England hat by his twin brother at the start of the day, kicked into action after lunch with his first Test stick.

Devon Conway played at the age of 26, trying to maneuver a ball of the maximum length of Overton, to make it difficult for New Zealand to be in 83rd place out of four points.

Fight Henry Nicholls made 19 out of 99 balls when he freaked out in a teacup.

Nicholls drove forcefully towards Leach only to let the ball deflect the non-striker Mitchell’s club and circled gently to Alex Lees between.

However, Mitchell may have been sidelined by the age of 8, but England, in several poor judgment picks, decided against the challenge Matthew Potts‘ was denied lbw’s appeal, with replays confirming the batter is out.

Mitchell celebrated that escape by lifting Leach to Leach six times in a row and going on to do a fifty-ball on exactly 100 balls.

He thought they let Blundell catch after part-timer Root for 31, but the hitter’s assessment showed no contact with the ball.

He was further frustrated when, after a brief downpour, Overton believed he let Mitchell foul Foakes in the foot for 60 minutes, only when England’s review revealed the batman had missed the ball.

England won the new ball as soon as they could, with New Zealand 203 giving five 80-times lead, but failed to manage another breakthrough.
