2022 LIV Golf in Chicago: Schedule, player fields, bonuses, wallets, live stream, watch online
LIV Golf’s inaugural season kicks off this week as 48 players move just outside of Chicago, Illinois, to Rich Harvest Farms for the tournament’s fifth event on the calendar. Cameron Smith’s 4 under 68 in Round 2 on Saturday allowed past Dustin Johnson to advance to the third and final round on Sunday.
Hoping to create fireworks like the Boston event, Johnson introduced a field where 46 of the same 48 players played just a few weeks ago.
David Puig is set to make his professional debut and has replaced Adrian Otaegui in the tournament. The former Arizona State standout is a top 10 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking who will enter his third Golf LIV event and first as a pro. Karma.
Aside from Puig and Henrik Stenson returning from a dizzy spell that forced him to withdraw from Boston, the pitch remained the same. Smith and Boston runners-up Joaquin Niemann and Anirban Lahiri are both gearing up for their second experience with LIV Golf. Despite each winning 54 strong holes in their debut, the mountain to follow Johnson in the season-long race is still steep.
The biggest two-time winner sets pace with 94 points, and is followed by LIV Golf Portland winner Branden Grace with 77 points. In third was Johnson’s teammate Talor Gooch with 48 points as the American finished fourth alone at the BMW PGA Championship on the DP World Tour.
Elevated to 35th in the Official World Golf Rankings, Gooch is in the midst of a fantastic run and is no worse off finishing ninth in his previous four LIV Golf appearances. . Gooch, Johnson, Patrick Reed and Pat Perez will be hoping to once again climb to the top of the team as their team, the 4 Aces, have won three tournaments in a row.
