I was surprised to see how the 18-150mm lens performed better. While $200 more expensive than the 18-45mm, lenses with a larger focal length range have traditionally tended to suffer optically in the quest for that zoom flexibility. While the 18-45mm is cheaper and is only half the size of the 18-150mm, it seems worth spending the extra money on the much improved image quality and performance of the latter lens.
