Tips to make sure your photography improves

Self-criticism is too easy or too hard, but in either case, it is very difficult to be effective with it. In this video, Nigel Danson guides you through your shoot and discusses some of the ways he ensures his photography continues to improve.

Nigel Danson is an amazing photographer and educator with whom we share a lot about Fstoppers. In this video, he offers many tips and tricks to help push your business in the right direction, some of which I can use myself. However, instead of repeating the tips he gives in this video, I believe that one of the reasons why he is as good as he is, is making people stare right in the face: his consistency.

No matter what I want to improve or the goal I want to achieve, I have never found anything more powerful than consistency. Actually, I’m writing an article on that topic as we talk, maybe that’s why I discovered it with Danson. Consistency is something that few people consider or value in anything they want to improve, because when you want to be the least consistent is when it matters most. It’s constant training to keep moving forward, no matter how small the step.

If you just look at Danson’s YouTube channel, you can see he has to work relentlessly and consistently, even if only on his videos, which I don’t believe is the case. So enjoy this video, do some tips and maybe mimic his consistency.
