It’s a big time for VR right now. You know, what with Sony PlayStation Virtual Reality 2 released for PS5 and all. Although not every home has it, more and more people have the opportunity to play through a variety of headphones. So we figured now might be the best time for us to talk about our favorite VR games and showcase some of them.
There will always be a place in my heart for Tetris effect, regardless of the platform, but what if we are talking about the game that uses VR as the best medium? that is Astro Bot: Rescue Mission. Alike Super Mario Land 3D used the depth of the 3DS screen, bot astronaut bring VR awareness to do interesting things with the already popular platform genre.

As an OG PSVR owner, I’m not exactly up to date with today’s technology, but my experience with it has taught me that I’m no more comfortable with the free-motion “walking” VR games I thought of that I will be. With that in mind, my favorite VR game by far is SUPER HOT VR. It has an impeccable vibe and exactly the right mix of stillness and movement that makes you feel like the bad guy when in reality you’re mostly just standing still and waving your arms. around.
Attached to that is an adaptation of MyDearest’s Altdeus: In addition to Chronos. This could be one of the more interesting explorations of VR-powered Visual Novel-style games, and leverages perspective to do some cool tricks with its storytelling. — Josh
It must be Job Simulator for me. It captures what can be exciting about VR! It is accessible! It is not trying too hard to do too much! You can do a quick play or slideshow to show someone how VR can work. However, if you really like it, you can play it for a longer period of time. I definitely consider this one of the best VR games out there, even after all this time.
Plus, there’s nowhere more stressful than my harrowing experiences with Keep talking and no one explodes. Play it with the wrong people and it’s not only annoying, but it’ll frustrate you endlessly. — jenni
