Itto is being rerun in The Genshin effect! Since its launch in December 2021, one and oniappeared many times. That means maybe it’s time to start wondering who should be on the same team as Itto. Well, the good news is, he really is a versatile character! Also, since he’s Geo, you don’t need to worry about elemental reactions. Instead, your ideal composition will depend on how many constellations Itto has and whether Gorou is around.
First, if you don’t have any of the (double) constellations of Itto no Gorou, the answer is easy. He is a main DPS character. Choose your favorite secondary DPS characters that can provide summoner spells, shields, or resonances. If you have Noelle or Zhongli, add them to the party. Go ahead and include people you can bring in, use their Elemental or Burst Skills quickly, then send it back. Good friend.
Now, if you have a C2 Itto, Gorou, or both, then you want to run a team with at least three Geo characters on it. This is because Gorou in any constellation gives additional summoner spells based on having up to three Geo allies around. Meanwhile, Itto’s second constellation is the Set ‘Round, It’s a Brawl! That reduces his Elemental Burst’s cooldown by 1.5 seconds and gives him six mana for each Geo around. So if you have a full party of four Geo, he will get 18 mana and can use his Elemental Burst 4.5 seconds earlier.
For Gorou, he is a supporting character! His all-round defensive elemental skill Inuzaka can provide three assists. If you only have one character around, you will get a boost in defense. If there are two people around, which you absolutely should with both him and Itto there, it’s harder for enemies to interrupt your attacks and combos. When three appear, you get a bonus for all the Geo damage dealt.
At that point, you already know which of the ideal members for this group should be: Itto and Gorou. From there, pretty much any other Geo character would do. I recommend against Yun Jun, as her abilities don’t complement a Geo-only crew. But if you have Albedo, Ningguang, Noelle and/or Zhongli, throw them in the party. (Okay, Yun Jun can join too, if you really need a fourth.)
If you don’t have or want all the Geo characters, three isn’t bad! Just make sure Itto and Gorou are two of them. What I want to do is sometimes form my team Itto, Gorou, Zhongli and Kokomi. That way, Kokomi can heal if needed and Zhongli always gives Itto a shield, while Gorou doesn’t.
