WATCH: Warriors’ Steph Curry scores historic Hole-in-one at Lake Tahoe celebrity golf tournament
The day after topping the leaderboard in the first round of the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament, golden empire warriors star Steph curry continued his frenzied pace by hitting a hole-punch on the seventh hole at Edgewood Resort in Lake Tahoe. Curry’s first hole shot came from 152 yards and marked a first hole hit on the seventh hole of the ACC Championship.
The celebration that was almost as spectacular as his shot was the one that followed, as Curry excitedly headed down the green in near-incredulity as the crowd around him went wild.
Known as one of the transcendent shooters in the history of NBA, Curry was used to precision from long distances. But he admits that what he was able to do on the seventh hole was significantly harder than nailing three points on the basketball court.
“154 yards is a little bit longer than 94 feet on a basketball court,” Curry told NBC Sports. “I’ll be out of breath for the rest of the day, but for good reason.”
With the U.S. Championships using the modified Stableford format, Curry’s first-hole shot scored eight points, giving him a 10-point lead midway through the second half.
