Eddie Hearn says the future of winners Leigh Wood v Michael Conlan looks incredibly bright, describing it as a “life-changing moment” for whoever wins Saturday.
Hearn promotes his WBA featherweight title fight at Nottingham Arena with his man Wood stepping out as the host boxer in front of a crowd of 10,000 ticket sales.
With the IBF title fight between Kiko Martinez v Josh Warrington, also a Hearn game, taking place this month, the featherweight division is currently in good shape and there are quality fights to be made in the future. .
Andi Purewal of Boxing Social asked the Matchroom promoter if the winners of both matches would meet.
“I think so,” he replied.

The state of playing with the WBA at 126lbs is not exactly forward. Wood will defend his WBA Regular title against Conlan while Santa Cruz is the ‘Super’ champion with sanctioning body. The 33-year-old Mexican hasn’t fought at the official 126lbs weight limit in a while.
“I guess the winner of this fight will be ordered to fight Santa Cruz for the Super Champion but I really see the winner of this fight elevated to the Super Champion because I don’t think Leo Santa Cruz will ever win. reached number 126,” said Listen.
