WATCH: Canadian golfer Adam Hadwin is handled by security after compatriot Nick Taylor wins RBC Canada Open

It was a great scene at Oakdale Golf & Country Club on Sunday night as Nick Taylor pitted Tommy Fleetwood over four playoff holes to become the champion. First Canadian to win RBC Canada Open in 69 years. And Taylor also completed the task excitedly, sucking a ridiculous 72 foot putt to the 18th eagle and declare victory.

Watching it all go is not only a gallery full of Canadians but also a number of Canadian and European golfers. Among them was Adam Hadwin, who was so excited to witness Taylor’s hit that he lunged at his countryman with a bottle of champagne in hand.

One problem: Fans from the gallery also stormed the green. Amidst the chaos, Hadwin is mistaken for a patron and is pinned to the ground by a security guard in an attempt to rush out of the CFL.

It was such a sight that CBS Sports’ main broadcaster, Jim Nantz, noticed it live as Taylor began to celebrate his unlikely hit.

Nantz commented: “Now they’re hitting the 18th green. “By the way, they just dealt with Adam Hadwin, who was trying to reach his friend. Security already knew — didn’t know exactly who it was. .”

Good news: Hadwin is fine. His wife, Jessica, took to Twitter to explain: “I’m delighted to announce that [Adam] still in the middle of the land of the living and in true Canadian form, sorry security guard for being dealt with,” she tweeted on Sunday night.

Taylor became only the sixth Canadian to win his national Open and the first to do so since Pat Fletcher in 1954. It was the third win of his PGA Tour career and it hit marks the fourth Tour event won by a Canadian this year, the most for a single season on record dating back to 1983.
