The former league MVP was a two-time high flyer, averaging 28.4 points and 6.9 assists along with career-high numbers of 5.8 rebounds and 5.4 3 points per game.
Along with Curry, it was also a play by his supporting cast. The roles this season, whether it’s those acquired after the season or the young players learning from last year’s mistakes, have played a huge part in the Warriors’ dominance.
This season, Golden State has been the most damaging team after halftime, reminiscent of the height of the Warriors dynasty in the second half of the last decade.
They are outperforming their competitors by 144 points over 19 games. Not only is that a league-best total, but it’s also just twice as long as the second-placed team in the Hornets (73).
In their recent game against the Portland Trail Blazers, they overcame the visitors 33-26 in the third inning. That’s not much but it was because the Warriors separated themselves when they took a 16-2 lead in the final 2:45 of the first half.
The win was the Warriors’ 10th straight home win, a game in which Curry led with a brace of nearly 32 points. He was the spark behind their run in the second quarter as he was responsible for 10 of the team’s 16 points.
Curry played a huge role in the team’s big third quarter, as he averaged 8.7 league best for the time being and scored the highest plus and minus points in the tournament +6.1.
After going up to 21, the Trail Blazers cut to just eight, but Curry once again fired his dagger from long distance to seal the victory.
