NIS America officially confirms that Void Terrarium 2, a sequel to the 2020 roguelike caregiving, will go West. At the NISA 2022 showcase event yesterday, it announced the global version of the game, officially titled void * tRrLM2(); // Void Terrarium 2. It is set for the Spring 2023 release window.

Void Terrarium 2 builds upon the gameplay and concept of the original. You play as Robbie, a cyborg tasked with keeping Toriko, the last human alive, alive in a hostile and toxic environment. The previous villain, cloudAI, has been defeated, but Toriko is threatened by something new: the Plague. You’ll need to dig dark dungeons and explore the surroundings to give Toriko the things she’ll need, like bugs to eat and materials to craft. You will also need to ensure her living space is safe and properly nourished, a difficult requirement considering the circumstances. Toriko will help you clean up and make things livable, but she’s fragile. If her needs are not met, and she can contract all sorts of terrible illnesses or expire painfully.
The game will receive a physical release on Switch and PS4, with Limited and Deluxe versions available at various retailers and the NISA Online Store. The Deluxe Edition comes with an art booklet and a digital soundtrack. The Limited Edition will include the extra features of the Deluxe Edition, along with a 1-disc physical soundtrack, “Grow Together” acrylic standee, “Friendly Faces” art cards, and a collectible box with Toriko’s artwork on the cover.
