It’s been an absolutely amazing week for Super Mario, with Illumination and Nintendo giving the world a first look at Movie Super Mario Bros.. While Mario’s longtime video game voiceover Charles Martinet isn’t spearheading this project, he hasn’t been forgotten.
Fellow voice actress Tara Strong (Powerpuff Girls, My little Pony, Harley Quinn in MultiVersus, and Miss Minutes in Loki) called on social media to show Mario’s voice “some love”. Of course, Charles was astounded by the collective response from fans – thanks to everyone who reached out. Here is the full text of the exchange:

In the teaser trailer for Mario Movie, Charles is listed in the voice-over attribution. As previously reported, he’s expected to appear as guest vocals throughout the film – so we’ll probably hear anything else from Mario’s video game voice in this big-screen adventure.
