Usyk Krassyuk promoters expect Usyk-AJ 2 to be finalized in the next two weeks
The date and venue for the Oleksandr Usyk-Anthony Joshua rematch is expected to be fixed within the next two weeks.
Usyk promoter Alexander Krassyuk also told Sky Sports that late June is being considered for the heavyweight belt fight.
“A lot will depend on how quickly we manage our paperwork. The good thing is that Usyk is already in Europe to start his preparations,” Krassyuk said.
Ten days ago, it was Usyk who announced that he had decided to start preparing for his comeback fight with Joshua. This comes after the 35-year-old left Ukraine to fight with his compatriots against Russian aggression towards their country.
Usyk beat Joshua on points last September at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. However, a rematch clause was negotiated allowing ‘AJ’ another shot at the Ukrainian. A win for Brit would make him a three-time heavyweight champion. Another win for Usyk would once again cement his title as one of the greatest boxers in the sport today.
