Usyk: I don’t believe Fury will retire
United heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk doesn’t believe WBC king Tyson Fury will retire from professional boxing.
Fury, who stopped Dillian Whyte for six rounds at Wembley Stadium last month, says he has no intention of fighting despite the possibility of being lured by an undisputed match.
When asked about Fury’s retirement plans, Usyk simply said Blockasset: “No, I don’t believe it.”
Usyk left his native Ukraine to begin training for his planned rematch with Anthony Joshua last month, and said he wants to bring happiness to the Ukrainian people amid the country’s invasion by Russia.
“Of course what is happening in Ukraine will motivate me a lot,” Usyk said. “In the gym, in training sessions and in fights. Because for me it’s another way to make people happier who are at home right now. ”
