Used Maserati GranTurismos are getting scary cheap

As the pandemic reduces the supply of new cars and drives up used car prices, it’s easy to assume that your dream bet on a performance car has dropped in value that you never would. afford to buy new will forever be out of reach. For example, there was a time when I thought I might one day be able to afford it a first generation Audi R8 with manual transmission. I just checked, and yes, that’s definitely never going to happen. And then there’s the Maserati GranTurismo.

Earlier today, several of us discussed the disconnect between average people’s impressions of Maseratis and their actual quality. As Adam said, “II’m always amazed at how ordinary people think Maseratis, Bentleys or Rolls Royces are in terms of quality and cost, when they’re actually a notch above Alfa.” It’s true, however, that there’s always that little voice in my head that says, “What if you made a bad decision and bought a GranTurismo?” I don’t want to make a bad decision, but at least they’re so expensive now that I can’t really buy one, much less can’t afford one.

So I did what I felt was a smart decision at the time and looked up a list of used GranTurismo in my area to reassure myself that buying one wasn’t a big deal. far-fetched choice. Turns out, it was a bad decision becauseclear, The original GranTurismos is ridiculously cheap (to buy) right now. Maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention and should have known, but I was expecting the cheapest ones to be between $30,000 and $40,000. But not. There are several within a short walk for those in the low to mid 20s.

It is so awful. It’s still a Maserati, but unlike previous models, the GranTurismos are really real cars that you can convince yourself that won’t leave you broke and crying by the roadside. Now I know I really can afford to pay on a Maserati GranTurismo worth $22,000, and I don’t like it. That’s not the only thing I see, and now this voice in my head right now is saying, “Just do all the maintenance and repair yourself, and you’ll be fine,” which is a very bad thing to hear when you’re trying Make smart decisions in life.

I wouldn’t buy a cheap Maserati. I wouldn’t buy a cheap Maserati. I wouldn’t buy a cheap Maserati.

I wouldn’t buy a cheap Maserati. If I did, I would quickly regret it, and I wouldn’t have enough savings to take a risky gamble on something that could end up costing me a lot of money. But then again, you never know, I might get lucky. The last (and last) time I went on a cruise with my family, I found $250 in casino gambling on the couch I was sitting on. That’s pretty lucky, isn’t it? Maybe I’ll have similar luck with a GranTurismo.

No, I definitely won’t. But maybe you will?
