USC issues apology after ‘offensive song’ during football match
USC’s athletic department said in a tweet Sunday: “The offensive song from our student body towards BYU at last night’s soccer game does not align with our Trojan values.” , USC’s athletic division said in a tweet Sunday. “It was upsetting and we apologize to the BYU program.”
USC could not provide any details as to why the apology was made or what the song was.
“I didn’t hear the chant but I know it doesn’t reflect the Trojan family I’ve come to know and love,” USC defense coach Vic So’oto said in a tweet.
So’oto, who played on BYU’s soccer team for four years, apologized and tagged BYU head coach Kalani Sitake and athletic director Tom Holmoe.
