United States World Juniors 2022: Full list of prospective NHL players announced for Team USA
Team USA has officially released the full roster for the 2022 World Youth Championship, a year after winning its fifth gold medal in last year’s competition.
The team published its final list on Tuesday, just weeks before the first drop was scheduled. The United States will look to claim consecutive gold medals as it prepares to face the Czech Republic in its opening game on Sunday, December 26.

Luke Hughes (second overall pick of the NHL Draft in 2021) is expected to dominate the US attack. Like his brothers, Jake and Quinn, he will compete for his country before he makes his NHL debut with the New Jersey Devils.

The three top 10 picks in the 2021 NHL Draft, including second overall pick Matthew Beniers, fourth overall pick Luke Hughes and fifth overall pick Jake Sanderson, were among a number of players selected to play represent the United States at this year’s World Juniors.

When will the 2022 World Children’s Championship start?

- Last day: January 5, 2022

- Location: Rogers Place (Edmonton, Alta.) and Peavey Mart Centrium (Red Deer, Alta.)
This year’s World Children’s Championship begins right after Christmas, December 26, also known as Gifting Day in Canada. The tournament will run for 11 days and run through the first week of 2022. It will be held at two locations in Alberta: Rogers Place in Edmonton, home of the NHL’s Oilers and WHL’s Oil Kings, and the Peaver Mart Centrium in Red Deer, home of the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels.
