United Nations World Oceans Day 2023 virtual event


Now that the 10th annual United Nations World Oceans Day Photo Contest has come to an end—and the jury is working hard to review the entries to select the winners—United Nations World Oceans Day hosts the United Nations Organization for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS) and its non-profit partner global ocean is busy with the final preparations for the event marking the United Nations World Oceans Day on June 8. You are invited to join the proceedings online as the United Nations celebrates its 2023 theme, Planet Ocean, to reshape the way we see Earth and create a new wave of excitement for the protect our oceans and our entire blue planet. The program will feature decision-makers, international public officials, indigenous communities, scientists, private sector executives, celebrities and youth activists.

The event will, of course, include the announcement of the winners of the photo contest presented by contest curator Ellen Cuylaerts. The winning images will be featured on United Nations World Oceans Day website as DPG’s small website dedicated to photo contests.
