United Nations World Oceans Day 2023 virtual event
United Nations World Oceans DayJune 8, just a week away, and this year Live TV event—organized by the United Nations Department of Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS) in partnership with global ocean—bringing together decision-makers, international public servants, indigenous communities, scientists, private sector executives, celebrities, youth activists, etc. to “put the oceans first.” head”.
Among the speakers on the show (See full details below) is marine scientist Dr. Sylvia Earle, ocean explorer Fabien Cousteau, and actor Jason Momoa, Environmental Program’s “Underwater Life Advocate”. NASA astronauts will also deliver an inspirational message from the International Space Station.
This event includes the announcement of this year’s winners United Nations World Oceans Day photo contest, presented by contest curator Ellen Cuylaerts, contest judges Rathika Ramasamy, Rajan Desai, Ipah Uid Lynn, Antoine Janssens and DPG Editor-in-Chief Ian Bongso-Seldrup. The winning images will be featured on United Nations World Oceans Day website as DPG’s small website dedicated to photo contests.
