Uber said it was cooperating with police after a video went viral that appeared to show a driver attempting to sexually assault a female driver. In the short clip, a man confronts the driver wearing revealing clothes in the back seat, the passenger appears to be unconscious.
On Tuesday (April 11), the ride-sharing company responded to the video. Shared by Inane Reality Leaks, it has had over 16.8 million views and over 8,000 retweets on Twitter. However, it is not clear when the incident happened.

“This video is horrible and we are taking action. We have banned the driver and are in contact with the police and will assist them in any investigation.” Uber Support tweeted.
In the video, the driver, wearing a black shirt and light pants, is sitting in the back seat and pulling his pants down when a man approaches the car, turns on the flash to film.
When the driver noticed who was filming, he jumped out of the back seat, pulled up his pants, and climbed into the front seat. The cameraman kept asking the driver, “What are you doing?”
A panning shows a woman with blond hair leaning against a chair. Meanwhile, the blue car has a large, white Uber sign on the driver’s door.
Although the driver left with a female passenger, the cameraman was still able to record the license plate number.
It’s not clear which country the incident happened in, but the driver’s steering wheel is on the right side – an unusual location in the United States.
Although Uber Support claims they have banned the driver, there are no further details about him. At this point, it is unclear whether authorities plan to file charges.
The woman’s identity is still unknown.
