U.S. DOE awards about $200 million to reduce vehicle emissions
The U.S. Division Of Power (DOE) on Monday stated it should award $199 million to fund 25 initiatives to cut back emissions from vehicles and trucks.
The funding goals to place cleaner vehicles and vans on roads together with long-haul vans powered by batteries and fuel cells, and also will assist to enhance electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure within the U.S.
The announcement is in line the division’s dedication to reaching President Joe Biden’s targets of getting zero-emission automobiles make up half of all automobiles bought in America by 2030 and attaining internet zero emissions economy-wide by 2050.
U.S. Vice Presdient Kamala Harris and Power Secretary Jennifer Granholm will announce the funding in New York on Monday.
The funding comes as Biden is ready to hitch leaders from over 100 nations in Glasgow for the beginning of the COP26 climate conference, which kicks off on the heels of the G20 summit in Rome.
