Chael Sonnen criticize Tyson’s Rage to choose boxed Francis Ngannou.
Fury, the reigning heavyweight champion, will face former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou in a bout Pay-per-view boxing match 10 rounds on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Fury’s title won’t be in the match, but Sonnen is no fan of the match against Ngannou.
“It was the most ridiculous sports competition of our lives,” Sonnen said the Schmo. “I’ll give you an example. Look at the Lakers — and the Lakers really, yes, when they had a guy named Shaq [O’Neal] and Kobe Bryant, may his soul rest in peace. I don’t know if LeBron [James] used to be on that team, but remember when they were really good?
“And you have Phil Jackson as the coach. Take them away and fight (Tom) Brady and the patriots. You’ve got these great teams, but you’re going to do it by the rules of football. Do you see how stupid it is? Do you see why it never happened? You see why it was never even discussed? That is what is happening here.”
Sonnen thinks the fight between undefeated boxing champion Fury and boxing debutant Ngannou will be lost, even calling Fury a bully for fighting Ngannou.
“But what kind of scum is Fury, man? I really have to tell you: The rage broke my heart,” Sonnen said. “I like this guy, and I love to entertain. I like a lot of things about him. You choose someone like Fury, who God made great, bestowed with great coaches, great training partners, great experiences too. He has weapons and tools that other men cannot deal with if they are unarmed.
“And will he choose to use those to beat a guy who is at least 37 years old, inexperienced and has a leg amputated? That’s a bully, and that’s a scoundrel. I would never do that to anyone. Jesse James has made a lot of money, and there are assassins who make a lot of money. I mean, there are things you can do, but you own it. You’re a bully, and you’re a scoundrel.”
