Ennis will go to 154lbs to fight Spence and Crawford

Jaron Ennis is willing to move to 154lbs if that means having to fight Errol Spence Jr or Terence Crawford.

The undefeated weightlifter returns to play this Saturday night against Custio Clayton in the IBF knockout. Spence, the unified 147lbs champion, holds the IBF, WBA and WBC belts while Crawford is the WBO belt holder.

Ennis ‘Boots’ is seen by many as the top threat to the two superstars and the 24-year-old will follow them to the super heavyweight division for a fight if necessary.

“It doesn’t matter to me if Spence and Crawford decide to stay in the league and face me,” Ennis said.

“I’d love to take the belt off the champion, but if I had to fight for the vacant belt, I’d meet Spence and Crawford at 154 pounds. They cannot go too far.”

Ennis against Clayton took place in Carson, California and was the main support for Jermell Charlo-Brian Castano’s undisputed super heavyweight rematch. The undefeated Philadelphia ranks in the top 5 across all four governing bodies and plans to grab everyone’s attention on Saturday night.

“I’m about to make a big statement on May 14,” Ennis said. “I’m about to win fashion domination and take the knockout stage. I am ready to take over this division.”

“This fight is everything to me. This is a big stage and it’s time for me to shine. From here on, it just keeps getting bigger and better. After I do my thing on May 14th, we’ll keep going up. I’m trying to show everyone what I can do. My speed, strength, defense, IQ and footwork. At the end of the night, I will come for the knockout.

That’s what fans come to see. I’ll show them what I can do and end the show with a knockout. “
