The Players Championship is back to full strength after a false start two years ago and a host of notable names were absent from the playing field last year. That is not the case in 2022 when 47 of the top 50 players in the world are on the pristine TPC Sawgrass course.

Unfortunately, The Players suffered a different kind of start to the year with the first round being delayed due to inclement weather in the Jacksonville, Florida area. Hope is back on track by Friday, but Mother Nature has completely different plans in mind. While the golfers continued the first round, it was still impossible to finish because of heavy rain and wind. The end of the first round and the beginning of the second will now turn to Saturday with the end of the week in sight.

Because of the inclement weather, the PGA Tour has yet to announce an official time to restart the action on Saturday. For now, all that is known is that the game will start no earlier than 11 a.m. ET.

The best time of golf season – six consecutive months of premier events featuring some of the world’s best golfers – continues in Jacksonville, Florida, with world No. 1 Jon Rahm favorite. Defending champions Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa, one of the best young players in the world, started the event among the top three on the Caesars Sportsbook odds table.
