Touch ‘n Go Enhanced Card with NFC goes on sale again via TnG eWallet – pre-order available from 10am Aug 25

The need for the new Advanced Touch Card ‘n Go so much so that the tag, capable of near-field communication (NFC), has become somewhat of a hard to find for many people. If you’re still looking for one, you’ll be able to buy it online tomorrow morning via the Touch ‘n Go (TnG) eWallet mobile app.

Like Star reports, a notice was sent on the eWallet app earlier today informing users that NFC-enabled TnG cards will be back in stock tomorrow morning (August 25) at 10am in the app.

There’s one catch, though, that’s limiting the number of cards you can buy – according to reports, the company is limiting purchases to one card per user order, down from the previous one. The previous maximum was two cards per order.

The move appears to be aimed at addressing previous complaints from consumers that expansion agents were somehow able to obtain an unspecified number of enhanced tokens in previous batches and already resell them online at several times the original price.

The new enhanced version of the Touch ‘n Go card basically allows Credit accumulation is done with NFC-enabled smartphones and the eWallet app, thus giving users the option to skip physical reload locations like kiosks and retail stores. According to TnG, the new card also has improved encryption for better security.

As with the previous version of the card, the credit balance on the Advanced version of the card remain separate from eWallet, although this can also be linked using the PayDirect function. Non-PayDirect transactions will continue to withdraw from the balance of the physical card.
