The National Hunt season is really kicking it up a notch with November meeting in Cheltenham this weekend. Saturday, November 13 is the closing day of Tote 10 to watch the competition. It’s time for Adrian Wall to consider the runners-up and pick his fantasy team for the upcoming season.
Appreciate that
Willie Mullins could get his hands on an Arkle winner this season. It was a bit of a surprise that he was included in last season of Supreme Novices as he looked a bit sluggish, but he proved his doubters wrong and won the race. go half way. Henry de Bromhead in charge is the current favorite target for Betfair Chase and he will bring us plenty of points this season. Camprond
Winning form at Cheltenham is never a bad thing and this lad has won a newcomer here, despite the low odds. He won the Persian war at Chepstow last month and could easily take the handicap ahead in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham on Sunday by a margin of 140.
Cape Gentleman
This is a super fun horse for the Emmet Mullins camp and this horse will be running in Punchestown Grade 2 on Saturday, so hopefully it can make it to the board. Rated 96 on level, he looks like a monster over the fence and transforms it into the perfect two monsters out of two in Cork when last seen. He looks sure to be at the top of the table next season.
Chantry’s house
The seven-year-old son owned by Yeats’ JP McManus has been slowly brought in and it looks like he could be leaning towards the Gold Cup this season. He won the Marsh Novices’ award at last season’s carnival, and even if Envoi Allen (falled) was at his best that day, he could still win. He then went on to beat Shan Blue with 32 lengths at Aintree. This is an improved game.
Fakir D’Oudairies
His campaign got off to a perfect start, winning the 15-length Clonmel Oil Chase, a race that Willie Mullins usually dominates. He found Allaho playing too well at Ryanair last season but McManus’s age is still only a six-year-old so much more improvement is needed.
Honeysuckle
People may try to be too smart and let this beautiful horse out of their imaginary stall, but if they do they are making a big mistake. She’s now eight-time 1st place winner and dominates the Rush Champion in 2021. She’s still just seven years old and will be fresh. It will need a good horse to stop her from following her.
Kilcruit
In my opinion, this beautiful specimen doesn’t have the speed to win the Novices Supreme Race. Yes, I know you need to go further to win the race but if he gets touched to qualify for Victory Bumper then you have to worry. If he wins the Ballymore, he wins it. He looks like a future three-mile chaser and a real future star.
Shishkin
Could this Seven Barrows horse be the next Sprinter Sacre? He’s done nothing wrong so far and his only con in 10 career starts was when he fell at Newbury in the second game. This monster has great flight speed, jumps for fun and has incredible strength. He looks like the Champion Chase winner in the meantime.
Teahupo
Gordon Elliott’s four-year-old excelled at finishing 3rd at Naas this month, knocking out chic kids like Quilixios and Jeff Kidder without a fuss. He’s only tasted failure once in his career and can become a monster in the making. He could be in Fighting Fifth or Hatton’s Grace and could finish in Baby Supreme in March.
