Tony Sims wants Benn V Brook in the fall
With a host of big names involved in the fight against Conor Benn this year, his coach Tony Sims favors a match against Kell Brook.
Benn promoter Eddie Hearn said this week that the 25-year-old will be put to a ‘deep end’ to his next fight if he gets past Chris van Heerden on Saturday night. Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia, Keith Thurman, Adrien Broner and Kell Brook are the names brought up by Hearn and it is an all-British showdown with the former IBF champion Sims will pick.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Sims said: “I’d like to do the fight with Brook in late fall if that fight goes on. I think it was a great fight for him.
“I think it’s going to be a good fight and a selling war.
“Boxing moves very fast and it also changes quickly. So we’ll just see what happens and take it one step at a time. But hopefully in the fall he’ll have a big fight with a good fighter, and I think then he’ll be ready to go. “
