Tiger Woods says his days as a full-time golfer are over: ‘Never full-time, again’
Woods told interviewer Henni Koyack: “I think it’s kind of realistic to do the tour one day, never full time again, but pick and choose, like Mr. (Ben) Hogan did,” Woods told interviewer Henni Koyack.
“It’s an unfortunate fact, but it’s my reality. And I understand it, and I accept it.”
Woods began the interview remotely from his South Florida home by entering the room with what he called “slightly entangled” in his stride, evidence of serious internal leg injuries. a car accident near Los Angeles in February.
“I’ve got a long way to go. … I’m not even halfway there yet. I have so much more muscle and nerve growth that I have to do it in my legs. Also, as you know, you know. , me I’ve had five back surgeries. So I’m working on that. So when the legs get stronger, sometimes the back can work. … It’s been a tough road.
“I’m just happy to be able to go out there and watch Charlie play, or go in the backyard and an hour or two alone with no one to talk to, no music, nothing. I just hear it. birds chirping. That’s the part I missed a lot.”
Woods will be attending the World of Heroes Challenge in the Bahamas this week. The 20-man tournament benefits Woods’ foundation.
Woods is scheduled to host his first media session since the crash at 9:00 a.m. ET Tuesday in New Providence, The Bahamas.
