Three sisters killed in ‘violent incident’ in Dublin | World News
Three sisters have died after a violent incident at a home in Dublin, police said.
The teenage girl and her two brothers were taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital Ireland (CHI) in Crumlin, but all three were later pronounced dead.
Officers were called to a property on Rossfield Estate in Tallaght around 12.30am on Sunday, describing the incident as violent, challenging and traumatic.
A teenage male was also taken from the scene to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
A man in his 20s was later arrested at the scene by the Garda Armed Support Unit.
He is being held at Tallaght Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The uninjured child’s mother was also taken to CHI and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Gardai said all of those involved are believed to know each other and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
The scene at Rossfield Estate remains cordoned off and a forensic examination will take place on Sunday by the Garda Department of Engineering.
An autopsy will also be conducted.
Garda Siochana said it has appointed a family liaison officer and will continue to assist those involved, in conjunction with other state agencies.
