E-waste: Royal Mint wants to turn your old phone into gold
Every year we throw away millions of tons of electronic waste – old computers, cell phones, televisions. They all have circuit boards in them.
Now, the Royal Mint has found a way to turn them into gold, which they plan to use to make commemorative coins.
BBC Science editor Rebecca Morelle visited their factory in Llantrisant, South Wales to find out how it would be done.
