Thousands of BYD Atto 3 EVs will arrive in Australia within weeks

We wrote about the debut BYD electric car to Australia for what feels like forever, but the countdown is about to hit zero.

The Chinese company’s Australian distributor, EVDirect.com.au, says three trains are currently on the way, filled with BYD Atto 3 electric SUVs for customers.

The company claims to have more than 4000 sales, with deliveries to buyers expected to begin in a few weeks.

All that remains for us now is to drive and see if the high-priced EV lives up to the hype.

“We have the capacity to produce 3000 EVs per month in the future, and currently have 5,000 in production and are en route to Australia on three cargo ships,” EVDirect chief executive Luke Todd announced.

“Customers who ordered their electric vehicle earlier this year are just a few weeks away from being able to deliver their Atto 3.

“This is one of the biggest new car brand launches in Australian automotive history… any new orders placed over the next month via www.EVDirect.com will be delivered comfortably by the end of the year, Mr. Todd stated.

These numbers are almost unprecedented in Australia (Tesla bar), where EV production is being held back by a lack of supply – often as a result of major car brands allocating excess EV production to other brands. countries with emissions reduction targets, larger EV subsidies, and more infrastructure.
