Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna faces Saul Roman in Atlantic City

Boardwalk Boxing’s 10-round main event promoted by Rising Star Promotion’s Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (31-5-1, 13 KOs) on Saturday, August 20 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall has been set. Famous Millville, NJ fighters will face veterans in the ring Saul Roman (46-15, 38 KOs) of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico in an 8-round competition.

LaManna scores 2nd TKO round won against Felix Bojorquez last August in his last match after falling Erislandy Lara give WBA World Middleweight Championship in May 2021. LaManna is looking to return to the middleweight competitive image while continuing to promote shows in New Jersey and Washington, DC. Meanwhile, Roman lost to Rafael Amarillas Ortiz in May 2021 in his last match.

Local cruiser Justin “Time” Figueroa, a Holy Spirit High School graduate who trained at the Police Athletic League (PAL) in Atlantic City, will make his professional debut before Miguel Morales (1-4, 1 KO) of Orlando, Fla., in a 4-round competition.

Co-main event featuring Puerto Rican champions Emmanuel “Salserito” Rodriguez (11-0, 5KOs), from Newark, NJ via Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, compete Frank “El Castigador” Gonzalez (9-2, 4KOs, Miami, Fla) for WBO NABO Latino Championship Bantamweight Belt. The rest of the cards have top undefeated prospects like Newark, flyweight NJ Anthony JohnsWoodbridge, NJ bantamweight Jose NievesDuarte, Calif. Super light Kurt ScobyChattanooga, Tenn., Scranton, Pa.
